Birthday’s Are A Crock
Today is my 50th birthday, and I feel as good as ever. Probably better than when I was 30 whilst running every day. Better than at 40 as I was still running (with much Yoga thrown in). Really though, who comes up with these yearly numbers? Are they something that nature enforces on us? Last time I looked calendars, clocks and the like were ALL invented by mankind to tell us how to feel and act.
Really a birthday is a symbolic day, but does anything actually “happen” on that day? And no, I don’t mean partying and getting presents. Nothing changes because in the eyes of nature it is just another day. We get a little older every day but that’s every day, not just on our birthdays. Not to brag but…..
I can do more pull ups/ chin ups now than when I was in high school
I can squat deeper than I did 10 years ago
I have more strength endurance than 20 years ago
I look better than I did 30 years ago.
Birthdays. A great time to have fun with friends (if you choose to) which is what I did last night, but otherwise it doesn’t mean anything. Celebrate yours and do a circuit of push ups (at your level) alternating with squats. See past episodes of Fusion Fitness TV for the how’s and just do em.
Best,
Robert
