Hi Karen,
True enough. You have got to honor the exercise and earn the way there. A beginner needs to strengthen up all the weak spots. Condition tendons and ligaments, build cardio fitness etc....to grind out a more advanced exercise like a full count burpee. keep up the good work!

Best,
Robert

Great detail visually and audio. I can learn from your site. First lesson: Full Burpees are not for beginners like me. I know why I have been having low back pain.

Hi Robert,

well.....your explanation just proved my point. 200 reps of 200 pounds? Where exactly is the "healthy" part in all that? Plus you only had access to an ab crunch machine? So...you mean to to say that body weight exercise (one of the toughest kinds BTW) was out of the question? A machine is ok for washing clothes or printing documents, but is not always such an efficient thing for the human body.

Best,
Robert

Hey Dawn,
Great news that we could help you out! I am with you.....JUST DO IT, is not the best way to learn an exercise. Especially one that has many parts like a full burpee does. Hope your workouts are going well. Best of luck.

Thank you so much for breaking down the Burpee! I recently took part in a 2-week boot camp and their way of explaining how to do a burpee was just "DO IT." To put it politely it did nothing for me but make my back ache and feel poorly about my physical ability. By breaking it down I feel like I can actually accomplish doing the burpee exercise. I've already started incorporating the squat into my normal work out routine.
Thanks again!
