Hi GYW,

Yep there are, but that would be the subject for another episode. In fact we will file that away and do an episode on your question. I can say this quickly though-----a muscle that is tight OR a muscle that is overly flexible is a weak muscle.

Best,

Robert

What if you have the reverse issue? having hamstrings that are too flexible? is there an exercise to strengthen your hamstring but maintain the flexibility?

Hey Matt,
Hamstrings are tight on a lot of people and they don't even really know until they start exercising. We will have to do another episode in the future showing some more hamstring flexibility exercises. As well as how to teach your hammies how to shut off once and a while.

Best,

Robert

Tight hammies are definitely brutal! They're also the cause of a lot of knee problems with my friends.

Mine tend be fairly flexible, but only because I stretch as depicted in the video. EVERYONE: watch this vid AND IMPROVE YOUR HAMSTRING FLEXIBILITY!

It's imperative that hamstring flexibility be maintained to avoid every day injuries!

As I'm writing this my hamstrings are tight and need to be stretched after reintroducing HIIT and testing my max squat the other day for a new program. I'll check in again when I'm more flexibile :)
