Which Workout Equipment Do I Use?

I was away for a few days and thought about exercising while on vacation. Then I thought about the equipment that I use.  Here is a list of equipment I use for exercise when I am at home:

Kettlebells

Pull up bar

Power Wheel

Rings (these hang from the pull up bar)

Jungle Gym (this also hangs from the pull up bar)

Stability Ball ( I only use it sometimes)

Indian Clubs (still learning how to use these)

Climbing Ropes (these hang in my garage!)

Barbell (I actually need a new one because I don’t have one anymore!)

Bodyweight

Hand grippers

Jump Rope (light weight speed rope)

Medicine Ball (mostly in the summer)

Stretch cords (used to use these a lot)

Dumbells (don’t use these much anymore)

Foam roller

Exercise mat

Massage stick

Stackable steps

That’s about it. You may know what some of that stuff is and some you may not know. Doesn’t matter for now.

Here is what I use when I am on vacation:

Bodyweight

Jungle gym

Jump rope

Chairs

Hand grippers

Steps

Hills

AND whatever else I can find.

Notice something? Just because you go on vacation and maybe don’t have access to your usual array of stuff you can still get  in tremendous workouts. I often bring 2 or 3 pieces of equipment that fit easily into my suitcase. If you are driving you can bring a couple of other things. Maybe a kettlebell and the power wheel, but you certainly don’t HAVE to.

If you know what to do you can exercise pretty much anywhere and get great results. You can definitely accomplish this with nothing but your own bodyweight. Strength, endurance, flexibility, fat loss it’s all there. Here is an example.

Push ups or more difficult push ups variations

Deck squat, single leg sqaut (assisted or unassisted)

Dips on chairs

Fast step ups (just use a bench or chair. I once used a pedestal of a statue)

Regular sit ups

Cossack squat

Oblique “bicycles”

Side plank up/down

V ups

Hindu squats

Hindu push ups or dive bomber style

Burpees

Mountain climbers

Running

Bear crawling (weight on feet and hands working your way across a jouyous, sunny meadow!)

Yoga tables

Yoga plank

Mobility exercises

Strength/stretching

Ashtanga Yoga

…the list is long, long, LONG. As you see you don’t need to have your stuff with you to supercharge your fitness and health.  It’s vacation season. Please don’t allow all the work you have done go down the drain. If you sat around all winter and spring then this is the BEST time of year to get started. There is nothing better than exercising outside. It connects YOU with fresh air, sun  and earth. I hope you have been following the episodes and applying what you have learned to your own workouts.  Fusion Fitness TV is here for that very purpose. To help you get into shape the right way. No guessing. You know how to do something and you practice it. You get better. You feel better. You look better. You feel the Fusion. Best of luck.
